The Newly Appointed Chairman of the Governing Council of KsTU– Professor Edward Brenya
Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Edward Brenya as the new Chairman of the Governing Council. His appointment marks a significant step in the University’s ongoing transformation and commitment to strengthening its governance structures, academic excellence, and industry-focused innovation.
Professor Edward Brenya is a distinguished academic and policy analyst from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of History and Political Studies. He also coordinates the Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme at the Institute of Distance Learning, contributing to the training of future public sector leaders.
Prof. Brenya holds a BA in Political Science with Philosophy from the University of Ghana. He proceeded to the United States, where he earned both his Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Ohio University and his PhD in Political Science from West Virginia University. His international academic exposure includes lecturing at West Virginia University prior to his return to Ghana.
As Chairman of the Governing Council of KsTU, Prof. Brenya brings extensive expertise in governance, policy development, and strategic planning. He is expected to steer the University toward greater institutional accountability, enhanced research productivity, and stronger academic industry collaboration which are key pillars in KsTU’s drive to remain a leading centre of technical and professional education in Ghana and beyond.
