Kumasi Technical University has held a ceremony to bid the students from Institut National Polytechnique farewell after a two-week exchange programme to study English language in the University. The farewell ceremony was held at the Council Chamber for the thirty-one (31) students who came from Cote d’ivoire.
One member of staff of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) Mr. Adjei-Saforo Kwafo Edmund has made the University proud by winning the covetous award as the Distinguished Foreign Student. The annual award was offered by the Peoples’ Republic of China through China’s Ministry of Education. Mr. Adjei-Saforo was adjudged the overall best student in the School of International Education in 2017 after winning the highly competitive award in 2016 which was based on the Lanzhou Jiaotong University’s benchmark recognition.
The Acting University Librarian Mr. K. Osei Kuffour has taken delivery of a number of books from the Directorate of International Affairs and Institutional Linkages (IAIL) of Kumasi Technical University. The books are meant to augment the stock at Fashion and Creative Arts section of the University Library. Presenting the books at the brief ceremony, the Director of IAIL Rev Dr. John Opoku was full of praise for Dr. Suzanne Gott for the kind gesture. The World Youth Day which falls on 15th July, 2017 has been designated by the United Nations to generate greater awareness on the importance of skilled youthful population through technical and vocational education and the development of those skills for self-reliance, improved employability as well as enhanced global competitiveness.
It is widely agreed that all things around us can be used to create fashion and hence students from the Fashion Department have made use of this statement. The Fashion Design and Textiles Studies Department under the Faculty of Creative Arts and Technology has launched its annual Fashion Week event, organized on Monday, 24th April, 2017. The final year students of both Higher National Diploma as well as the Bachelor of Technology students spearheaded the event this year.
The Health and Safety Office of Kumasi Technical University has organized a six-day accident prevention and fire fighting training program from the 30th January through to 23rd February, 2017 for vendors and staff in the University. The program was organized based on recommendations from 2016 accidents, incidents and near misses investigations reports.
